1963 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible

This may just be a one of one Pontiac Bonneville Convertible. It was equipped with 42 factory options. Couple that with a stunning, better-than-new, frame-off restoration, and this Bonneville is a Pontiac like no other.

1963 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE CONVERTIBLE - Front 3/4 - 206071

The exterior of this Pontiac Bonneville is a glossy Cameo Ivory. The care and attention given to the finish is far beyond the factory finish. Chrome bumpers have been carefully re-plated, and all stainless trim is either new or highly polished. Panel gaps are consistent throughout and body panels are all string straight. Eight-lug aluminum Pontiac wheels are shod in radial whitewall rubber. Glass looks to be crystal clear, and all weatherstrip is as new. The white vinyl convertible top has none of the telltale wrinkles associated with having been stored in the folded or down position. Original T3-style headlights have been fitted.

Under the hood of the Pontiac Bonneville is the High Output Tri-Power 421 cubic-inch V8, topped by the three two-barrel carbs that give it its moniker. All components are original or appear as such, down to the yellow-cap Delco battery. The rare transistorized ignition is one of the factory options. Finishes are all as they should be. Power steering and power brake boosters are visible, as is the Frigidaire A/C compressor. Dress-up chrome valve covers complement the three individual air cleaner caps, one for each carb. The 421 is backed by a four-speed manual transmission and the Safe-T-Track 3.42 rear gear.

Tri-tone burgundy leather covers the Pontiac Bonneville’s interior, bucket seats in front and a rear bench. The quality of the restoration is more indisputable in the interior, where beautifully refinished chrome and polished stainless abound. Additionally, the brunt of the 42 options are found here, including the push-button AM/FM radio with electric antenna, two-speed windshield wipers with washers, Safeguard speedometer with fuel level light, instrument panel pad, visor vanity mirror, inside non-glare tilt mirror, tachometer, outside remote control mirror for both sides, deluxe steering wheel, utility light, glove box light, courtesy light, ash tray light, parking brake light, soft ray glass, power windows, power vent windows, power seat, air conditioning (quite rare on 1960s convertibles), Magi-Cruise control, electric clock, tilt steering, remote control trunklid, and Guide-Matic headlight dimmer. There are a lot of new cars that aren’t this well-equipped!

1963 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE CONVERTIBLE - Interior - 206071

This 1963 Pontiac Bonneville is accompanied by Pontiac Historical Society paperwork. Given the options list, condition, documentation, and known ownership history, it is likely the only one of its kind. It is available from Specialty Sales Classics for $84,990.
